MULTISCOREBOARD USER'S GUIDE


SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

In order to run this software the system must meet the following requirements:
- IBM PC compatible computer
- Microsoft XP or newer operating system, recommended Windows 7 or newer
- Sun Java 1.8 runtime environment (free to download and use: www.java.com)
- For multi-display use second monitor output is required


INSTALL

Installing the program requires Administrator rights on the computer.
The installer of the program can be downloaded from our website: www.intelio.hu/multiscoreboard.
When downloaded run the installer that copies all the files and makes the necessary 
configurations to the computer.
The icon of MultiScoreBoard will then appear on the Start menu among the programs.
The program will check at startup the presence of the required Java runtime 
environment. If not found, it will offer to download Java. Download and run the 
Java installer, which will result in Java being installed on the computer. 
Now MultiScoreBoard can be launched.


PREREQUISITES

Before running the program, connect the projector to the computer and make sure 
it is working fine. The software is capable of displaying the scoreboard on the 
projector and the control panel on the computer screen. But this is possible only 
if the computer is capable of using extended desktop, i.e. if independent, 
different contents can be displayed on the projector and the screen. 
Some older notebook computers can display only the same content on both (mirror mode). 
In this case only the board can be seen on both places. This is the situation 
with one monitor output desktop computers as well.

The window of the board is resizable within certain limits. 
In extreme cases displaying will not be optimal, though, some parts or labels can disappear.
In such a case it is recommended to set the resolution of the projector to a commonly used 
value like 800x600, 1024x768 or 1280x1024.


STARTING THE PROGRAM, SETUP

The program can be started by its icon located in the Start menu 
(Start / All Programs / MultiScoreBoard / MultiScoreBoard).

The program first displays the setup panel. Here you can choose:
- the board type
- the color scheme. The dark color scheme follows the traditional scoreboard colors 
with dark background and light letters. In certain situations (in strong light 
for example) the light color scheme can be more useful, since it uses light 
background and dark letter colors producing higher contrast.
- the language of the application
- the logo of the teams. Jpg, png or gif images can be loaded, which will be 
displayed on the board. The loaded image will be automatically resized; the 
ideal size is 180x100 pixels. It is possible to use default logo images, too 
by saving the logo images into the install folder of the program 
(by default it is the "C:\Program Files\Multiscoreboard" folder) 
under the following names: Home Logo: home_logo.jpg, Guest Logo: guest_logo.jpg .

Registration can be done here, too. By clicking the logo at the top right corner, 
the About window opens, allowing to load the registration key file.
 
By clicking the Start button, the application displays the scoreboard and the control panel.


USING THE PROGRAM

Two windows open: the scoreboard and the control panel. In multi-monitor use 
first click on the title bar of the board and drag it to the projector area. 
Then click on the Full Screen button on the control panel, which maximizes the 
board window, hiding the title bar as well.

From this point all the display areas of the board can be controlled by using 
the control panel.

The control panel buttons are arranged similarly to the corresponding displays 
on the board for easy navigation.

By using the Monitor button, a second, smaller size board can be displayed 
on the computer screen, so the operator can easily check the state of the board 
without looking at the projected board.

The keyboard can also be used to control the board. The keyboard shortcuts 
can be displayed by clicking the Keys Help button.

The Back button allows getting back to the setup window, and the board will be cleared.

The program can be closed by clicking the X button at the top right corner 
of the control panel.


LICENSE

The trial version of the program runs in a fully functional, time limited mode, 
with a time limit of 3 minutes. The user has the right to test the program 
for a trial period of 15 days. After the trial period a license must be purchased 
or the software must be uninstalled.

The purchased license grants one user right; the software may be installed 
and used on one computer. Usage on more computers requires additional licenses.

is error free and it runs in every environment without errors. Therefore any 
liability for damage of any sort is hereby denied.

The purpose of the trial version is that the buyer can test the program in the 
intended environment before the purchase. Therefore by purchasing the program, 
the customer agrees that the program is tested and works correctly on the target system.
